
Check your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if the results are high. This medication may raise your blood pressure. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Remember that this medication has been prescribed because your doctor has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor promptly. Loss of appetite, weight loss, dry mouth, stomach upset/pain, nausea/ vomiting, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, fever, nervousness, and trouble sleeping may occur. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens. Properly stop the medication when so directed. Do not increase your dose, take it more often, or use it for a longer time than prescribed. This risk may be higher if you have a substance use disorder (such as overuse of or addiction to drugs/alcohol). Though it helps many people, this medication may sometimes cause addiction. Talk with your doctor if this medication stops working well. When this medication is used for a long time, it may not work as well. Tell your doctor or pharmacist right away if you have withdrawal. Withdrawal is more likely if you have used this medication for a long time or in high doses. To help prevent withdrawal, your doctor may lower your dose slowly. If you suddenly stop using this medication, you may have withdrawal symptoms (such as severe tiredness, sleep problems, mental/mood changes such as depression). To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.ĭuring treatment, your doctor may occasionally recommend stopping the medication for a short time to see whether there are any changes in your behavior and whether the medication is still needed. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Your doctor may adjust your dose to find the dose that is best for you. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not chew the mixture, and do not save it for future use. If you have difficulty swallowing this medication whole, you may sprinkle the entire contents of a capsule on a small amount of applesauce just before taking. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Taking this medication after noon may cause trouble sleeping ( insomnia). You may take this medication with or without food, but it is important to choose one way and take this medication the same way with every dose. Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
